VeritagBot
VeritagBot is the crawler of Veritag. Veritag checks the prices and price reductions that online shops in Poland and the Netherlands show publicly, against the EU rule on announcing price reductions (Article 6a of the Price Indication Directive, the "30-day lowest price" rule).
What it does
- Visits publicly available pages, such as the home page, category pages and product pages, as an anonymous guest.
- Reads the prices shown. On some shops it adds one product to a guest shopping cart to read the cart price.
- It never logs in, creates an account, submits personal data or checks out.
- It obeys
robots.txt, includingCrawl-delay, and makes at most one request per second to a site. - Every request identifies itself with this user agent:
VeritagBot/<version> (+https://veritag.integration-maestro.com/)
Opting out
To stop VeritagBot visiting your site, add this to your robots.txt:
User-agent: VeritagBot
Disallow: /
VeritagBot reads robots.txt once a day, so a change takes effect
within a day.
